I get bored pretty easy.

Quiet Sunday

I am so sad to announce that the monsoon [wet season] is officially over and here comes the hot season. The feeling is hot and muggy for most of the time as the weather is so mercilessly hot. Argh, it's a good thing that I did not returned about this time of the year as the first 6 months of the year is usually and undesirably hot. Would have taken me the double dosage to acclimatised ... which I don't think I am even reaching full of that process.

Woke up at about 930 and headed out with deary mom to the temple. Upon our arrival, we got to witness 2 sequences of 'lion dance' consecutively. I have to say that I did enjoyed it as I haven't seen any of this sort of thing for a while and it was a refreshing change. Did manage to get a few snapshots . . . will be up soon.

I decided to take my mom to 'Passion of Kelina', an indian restaurant that serves delicious banana rice leaf at a very cheap price. It's located on Servis Road, just off Burmah Road. The world must be a small place as my mom met 3 of her colleagues at the restaurant. Not 1, but 3! I highly recommend the fried bittergroud, most delicious. It's not wonder Pam is kinda addicted to it. She recommended me this place too. I decided to try the fried fish - bawal, that was pretty normal and nothing to scream about.

I love shopping for cards and Chinese New Year Cards is definately not an exception. I just love beautiful illustrations of art and the mixtures of colours altogether. We sort of deviated to Sunshine Square, a departmental store not too far away from where I live .. and the traffic is no less than busy. It took me about 15 minutes or so to locate for a parking space. Everyone seems to head there for one purpose - CNY shopping. My ultimate intention of heading there was to purchase some 'plum blossom', a pinkish flower with small petals used for docorative purposes but we got sidetracked to buy food instead! Typical huh.

Friday the 13th

After a full, long day of mad rush, I was really looking forward for a quiet session with a girlfriend of mine, namely Pam. We were gonna catch King Kong of which I have been meaning to catch since ages ago but time was scarce. So off we go, left work at about 1900 hours. The arrangement was to meet at Gurney Plaza with our respective vehicle.

I was heading out of the parking lot [exit gate], stop and had a look and there was a silver Nissan Sentra stationary right opposite my vehicle. I waited for him to cross but did not so I went ahead. The next thing I knew, he rammed onto my vehicle. He must have been speeding as he rammed onto my front and back door on the driver side .. yes meaning he rammed into me directly! I would have been dead if the door wasn't there .. yes I know, it makes to sense to make that satement, but I was near the point of accident! He rammed so hard that there was a big hole at my back door to the extend that you can see the seats from the hole. *sigh*

I parked and put on my hazard light on. Discovered my door was jammed and the locking system is dysfunctional. So I climb over to the passenger side and it was difficult, given my attire was pencil skirt, with stilletoes. So anyway, I got out and came face to face with the other driver. He stared at and and vice versa. I broke the silence by blurting out "How on earth did you rammed into me ? I was already halfway across the road. Surely you must have seen me!". He replied ... "No, I didn't see you at all". Obviously, he wasn't really looking and practising due attention to the road aint he! We both did not want to reach a settlement.

Decision : to lodge a police report. I called Pam, she came in a speedy manner and chilled the hell out of him. Then, Nick came. Basically, just to give advise. We proceeded to the police station located at Sg. Patani/Patani Road. Anyway, we didn't leave the police station till about 2145 hrs. Was hungry and knackered at the same time. My thanks goes to Pam and Nick for their time. I wouldn't have known what to do if it were not for them. :)

It wasn't till I lodge the report that I realise it was Friday the 13th. And if you were an avid reader of this practically non-existent blog, you would recall very well that I my vehicle is less than 3 months old. *arrrrggghhh*

And it doesn't help at all that CNY is just about 10 days away. So yea that was my weekend for ya.

Saturday Morning

Here I am, online on a Saturday morning. Woke up at about 830 and can't seem to go back to sleep which is really frustrating. I hoped to be able to catch up on all those sleep which I have been deprived of but looks like it ain't gonna happen. So here comes Jan 2006 and I'm missing all the BIG January sales in GB. It's such a good time to shop cause there are loads of great, HOT N CHEAP deals all over! Even on amazon.co.uk .... is driving me insane with all the hot deals. Yes, you can tell I'm a book + CD lover. And I do miss internet shopping so much. And I miss shopping in London + Paris too. Especially those shops + boutiques along Central London namely Harrolds. And Les Halles. Can anyone get me the Godiva chocolates ? *sigh* They are such an aphrodisiac! Oh .. speaking of occasion, Chinese New Year is just about 2 weeks + away and I will be accosting it for the first time in years here in Penang. Yes yes, I know I must have said that a million times but I really am looking forward for it. Having Chinese New Year in cold and wet England during this festive season is really unbecoming.

Oh and I have figured out my attire for CNY. It's a silk cheongsam [mainly white] imported from Shanghai and it only cost me RM100.00 - bargain! Love it to bits ... was having such a difficulty in choosing amongst the variations of designs and colours. I love it so much till I nearly bought 2 of them. But neh, I finally decided on a simple white with bits of pink blossom on it. Kinda like the one with green lilies on it too. Hmmm ...... tempatations.

Next step - I just need to look for a pair of matching earrings, a clutch bag and heels. I'm planning on being really 'oriental' this year. Seem to be in the mood for it. Proceeded to Gurney Plaza yesterday after work with Pam, each with our own agenda on our list of 'things to look for'. She can't decide between 2 mobile phones and I can't seem to find a pair earrings with oriental designs. It's either too pink, too flamboyant or the designs doesn't seem right. Maybe I should head to the stalls along Batu Ferringhi. Pam is gonna be in a punjabi suit! Oh, have to see that one. Clueless as to what a punjabi suit is ? Go figure!

We had 'Sushi King' for dinner yesterday and the 'California Roll/Temaki' is superb! Anyone up for the Equitorial Hotel Japanese Buffet lunch ? I'm saving my cash for that. Planning on stuffing myself senseless.

Right - the New Year warrants 2 things which I essentially needs ... 1] 2006 Diary and 2] 2006 Calendar. I love the calendar I have of South of France but I can't use it anymore. Kinda like the 'Chat Noir' but can't seem to find it here. Arty shops are really scarce over here. Saw some on the internet ... hmmm. And they don't sell those easy-to-use Moleskin diary ... if only Blackwells have a branch over here, I would be over the moon!

The Last Few Weeks

I miss writing, really I do. I tend to articulate my thoughts based on how my day went by and incidents that occurs. I usually have ideas to write on especially when I'm driving home, my mind tends to think best then, it seems. But for some unknown reason, the minute I got home, my mind goes into some form of perpetual blankness. I sat lounging on my couch and I am too lazy to move. Really, this lack of energy is kinda frustrating. But maybe I shouldn't be so hard on myself as work for the last few weeks has been crazy.

Anyway, to sum it all - my Xmas was quiet and for once, it's not cold during this time of the year! Though I do strangely miss the cold. And mince pies. Even Tesco don't sell them. How dissapointing. I cooked for a friend, watched some DVD's, drank some beer and wine. Chilled out basically. Played some card games, tell silly jokes and laughed at our own stupidity. FUN. Didn't get home till about 5 and was absolutely deflated the next day. I didn't manage to recover till about 6pm.

I know it's too late to wish merry christmas cause I missed the occasion to do it, so I won't but nevertheless, I hope everyone had a lovely time.

BOOTYLICIOUS NEW YEAR

A stretch of 12 months has just left us and another whole new series of another 12 months has yet to encompass in our lives. Year 2006. The year 2005 has been an EXCELLENT year for me, one where I enjoyed tremendously, seen various places, met peoples from all walks of life, a great sense of achievement and ultimately, I am content with life. For now anyway. Time is one thing where we can't control and therefore bringing the past ... which means I also left many people of whom I cared about in 2005. People which has come to mean a lot to me, left a mark in my life and I am saddened with the fact that they are so far away from me. I will always cherish those times and I am thankful & grateful for the chance of life bestowing upon me the chance to meet them.

How did I accosted the New Year ? One must have wondered. I had a very mild one, compared to the one before. As my girlfriends was not too keen to be out and about, for reason which I understand only too well, I headed out with my old schoolmates. It would have been too expensive to be out in a club/bar as drinks would have been charged at a ridiculous price, ething is 3 times, massive traffic all over and not to mention the stampede! I went to watch 'Venom' and it was DIABOLICAL ! With a capital D! Honestly, I cannot believe I actually got talked into watching this bad film. *sigh* The movie finito about 2300 hours and we had our countdown along Promenade Gurney. Fireworks, loud honking, foam party, loud singing, hugs and more hugs ... I was ready to take off. Yeay, my first New Year in Penang for the last 6 years. It was memorable to see Penang in such delightful colour. Too bad I forgot my handy cam, yes again!

Anyway, this is a bit of a cliche but hey HAPPY NEW YEAR! Now, don't anyone dissapoint me, I expect lots of fun and 'slutting' this year. Too bad the mistletoe's gone or else I'll have an excuse to behave like a tart! They are the best idea ever. Missing all of you, especially the boozing part and don't forget to work hard and play hard!
